Emily Knapton, OTR/L

Emily earned her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota. She has over 10 years of pediatric experience working with children in their educational settings as well as developing curriculum and creating products for Handwriting Without Tears. In her role as a Chief Ideator, Emily works closely with Jan Z. Olsen and the Producing team at HWT. Emily co-authored the Get Set for School™ curriculum, the Print Tool™, Level One Certification, and the 2008 Teacher’s Guides. She also served as an advisor to the 2008 workbooks and is co-creator of Mat Man™ and the Rock, Rap, Tap and Learn CD. Emily is currently on an 18-month sabbatical where she is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Childhood Development/Early Childhood Education as well as spending time working with children and their teachers in multiple settings.
